What are the 8 Parts of Speech in English ?

"Parts of Speech" is one of the first things we hear when learning English. What does that mean, though? In a nutshell, parts of speech are the fundamental units of English grammar. Each of these groups includes every word in a sentence. It's much simpler to construct proper sentences once you comprehend them.

The Part of Speech Is Determined by the Word's Function

Let's examine the eight primary components of speech:

1. Noun:
A noun is a person, place, thing, or concept that has a name.
For instance, Ravi, school, books, and honesty
ðŸ‘‰ Nouns can be thought of as the naming words.

2. Pronoun :

To prevent repetition, a pronoun is a term that takes the place of a noun.
For Example: he, she, it, they, and we

ðŸ‘‰ Rather than saying, "My friend is Ravi."
We say, "Ravi is my friend, and he is kind."
          He is nice.

3. Verb:
A verb expresses an action or a condition.
For Example: eat, write, run, am, are
👉 A sentence cannot exist without verbs.

4. Adjective:
An adjective provides additional information or a description of a noun or pronoun.
For Example: lovely, tall, little, three, and red
👉 She is a bright young lady.

5. Adverb:
An adverb gives a verb, adjective, or other adverb additional meaning.

For Example: swiftly, very, well, and slowly
    👉 He runs quickly.

6. Preposition:
A preposition indicates how one noun or pronoun in a sentence relates to another             word.

For Example: under, between, at, on, and in
👉 The book is on the table.

7. Conjunction:
Joining Words, phrases, or sentences are joined by a conjunction.

For Example: and, but, or, because
ðŸ‘‰ I enjoy coffee and tea.

8. Interjection:
An interjection conveys abrupt emotions or sentiments.
For Example: Whoa!, Oh!, Hurray!, Oops!
   ðŸ‘‰ Whoa! How unexpected!
